Who It’s For: individuals with sore throat and/or dry cough
Who It’s Not For: children under age 1, individuals with a wet/productive cough (if there’s phlegm, your body needs to release it & we don’t want to suppress that process), individuals with allergies to any of the ingredients
Ingredients:
1 Organic Lemon, sliced and quartered
1″ slice of fresh ginger, finely chopped
1/4 cup raw honey
2 Tbsp cold pressed (organic) coconut oil
Benefits:
Lemon – good source of vitamin C, gentle liver support (Remember, your liver helps your immune system by processing garbage & building antibodies)
Ginger – reduces nausea and inflammation
Raw Honey – anti-microbial, soothes throat
Coconut Oil – anti-microbial (thanks to a compound called lauric acid)
Directions:
Wash, slice & quarter lemon. Peel & finely chop fresh ginger. Place lemon & ginger in 500mL (pint) jar. Measure raw honey into small mixing bowl. Melt coconut oil over low heat & stir well into honey. Pour honey & coconut oil mixture into jar. Place lid tightly on jar & shake vigorously. Let stand at least 24 hours before using. Shake well before each use. (Coconut oil may solidify & produce small white flecks in the syrup.)
Dosing
Adults: 1 Tbsp, 3-4 times daily
Children:
8-12 years old: 1-2 tsp, 2-3 times daily
4-7 years old: 0.5-1 tsp, 2-3 times daily
1-3 years old: 0.5 tsp (2.5mL), 2 times daily
